Every week we will keep you updated with the latest trends, news and industry launches.
YouTube, Google’s powerhouse, is getting even more traction as video demand increases
YouTube is growing exponentially year on year, driven especially by mobile video consumption and the increased adoption of Smart TVs, connected to the Internet.
YouTube recently revealed that there are now 1.5 billion logged-in users that visit the site site/app every month. This figure is ever more impressive since Google specifically mentioned logged-in users. There are many other people that watch videos without logging into their Google Account.
YouTube also disclosed that logged-in users spend on average more than an hour per day on MOBILE devices, watching video content. This shows exactly how massive video consumption is on mobile and how mobile optimization should be a top priority for every organization that went digital (and if you’re not digital yet, ‘just do it’ 🙂 )
“When we compare that [metric] to TV, people — in some countries like the U.S. — watch up to four hours per day, so we think there’s lots of room to get people to watch even more YouTube,” CEO Susan Wojcicki said onstage, according to TechCrunch.
According to YouTube, the video consumption on TVs increased by 90% year-on-year, being the fastest growing medium.
Gmail content will not be used for ads personalization
Google decided that Gmail content will not be used or scanned for any type of ads personalization. Ads that will be seen by users are shown based on their settings, which are subject to revision at any time. Users can even choose to disable ads personalization.
Google is arguing the decision is based on the enormous traction that G Suite gained in the past year, doubling among large business customers. There are more than 3 million paying companies that use Google’s G Suite, according to the tech giant.
Google also indicated some new features that are going to be added to the functionality of their e-mail service. “By indicating possible email responses, Gmail features like Smart Reply make emailing easier, faster and more efficient. Gmail add-ons will enable features like payments and invoicing directly within Gmail, further revolutionizing what can be accomplished in email.”
Data Analytics is taking over the Healthcare industry
The healthcare industry is going through a phase where it redefines “value” by changing expectations of care quality, reimbursement models and even patient experience. In order to deliver a new value, they need “a far more granular dissection of data and payers, providers, pharmaceuticals and medical technology companies are taking this move very seriously” says a newly released study.
“Global Healthcare Data Analytics Companies-to-action“, a new study issued by Research and Markets, is arguing that the healthcare system is transiting towards analytics-based decisions that better serve customers. This is not only more efficient for companies, but the response time and fund allocation is a lot more targeted and optimized.
“To support these rapidly evolving stakeholders, data analytics vendors are bringing new and innovative solutions to the market that can help solve highly specific business issues around developing new solutions, revenue streams, operating models, and target customers. However, current solutions seem to have a rather niche scope, which creates obstacles for both data analytics companies’ rather complex and crowded market landscape consisting multiple solution segments and their healthcare industry customers”, according to the study.
